Santa Barbara – Anne Swan
Anne began teaching classes at the Perfect Puppy Academy after meeting Academy Director Dr David Chubb in 2005. She looks forward to the enthusiasm that puppies and their owners bring to every session. Anne works with students to smooth the transition of adding puppies and adopted dogs to the household. She employs gentle methods based on positive reinforcement and establishing leadership. Her goal is to create well-behaved family members that you will look forward to spending time with.
Anne regularly attends continuing education conferences and seminars in which she has the opportunity to meet leading dog trainers.
Anne worked for 14 years in the Special Education field with young adults with special needs, helping them to develop job skills and enter the local workforce. She trained horses for over 30 years and was a riding instructor for Hearts Therapeutic Riding Program and the Raintree Ranch. Currently she enjoys casual trail riding with her Quarter Horse gelding, Wrangler.

Anne competes with her dogs in national agility competitions sponsored by organizations such as the American Kennel Club and the United States Dog Agility Association. Four of her dogs have been National Finalists. In National AKC Agility competition for Australian Cattle Dogs, Maizey currently is ranked #1 and Kylie is #3.
