Conejo Valley – Barb Pensky

barb060816Barb loves being a trainer at Perfect Puppy Academy. Helping puppies and their owners develop a strong bond makes teaching our classes rewarding.

Barb has always had a special connection with dogs. As a girl she worked with her own rescue dogs. In 1992 she opened her first pet-sitting business, then developed two other dog-related businesses which are still operating. Helping her clients with their dogs’ behavior problems sparked Barb’s academic study of dog training and animal behavior.

Barb mentors with Barbara Johnson, CPDT-KSA. She reads publications by her favorite trainers and attends professional seminars and conferences.

Also of Note

Barb has seen first hand how many dogs are given up because of simple, correctable behavior problems. She volunteers at the Ventura County Animal Shelter, helping dogs become more adoptable by teaching them basic commands and how to walk on a loose leash. She recently became involved with the Pack Walk program which helps leash-reactive dogs become more comfortable around other dogs.

Barb has three rescue poodle mixes named Andy, Molly, and Cody who rarely leave her side.
